Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez is set to miss out for the club ahead of their game against Manchester City.

The Clarets were hoping to have the striker available for the weekend clash, but he is likely to be absent due to a knee injury.

He is going to be out for at least a few weeks because of the injury he sustained against Tottenham last weekend.

Rodriguez has been a regular on the team sheet recently.

When asked about the player's fitness, manager Sean Dyche said recently: "Jay Rodriguez crunched his knee and slightly twisted it but it is not as serious as it could have been.

"He won't be there this weekend but we are hoping it settles down quite quickly and possibly the international break gives him another couple of weeks without football where these guys can get back."
