Burnley striker Barnes arrested for drink driving

Burnley striker Ashley Barnes was arrested amid allegations of drink driving.

The 31-year-old is said to have spent time with his Clarets teammates, drinking on a four hour coach ride following their win over Fulham last week.

According to The Sun, he was pulled over in his personal Mercedes V-Class close to his house. Barnes subsequently failed a breath test and was then arrested.

The Sun source claims: "Sean's [Dyche - Burnley manager] a strict disciplinarian and expects a lot from his senior players like Ashley.

"Several of the players spent about four hours drinking and having a laugh.

"But what is not funny is getting off the coach and climbing behind the wheel of your car.

"Ashley is mortified at what he has done."
