Burnley skipper Ben Mee fuming after Leeds defeat

Burnley skipper Ben Mee was left frustrated after their 1-0 defeat to Leeds United.

A penalty won and converted by Patrick Bamford was the difference on Sunday.

“It was a disappointing first half," said Mee. “We didn't get out of the blocks and there were a few sloppy things happening, including from myself.

“But in the second half we came out and showed how fit we are as a team and a group and played well in the second half. We just needed to find that moment.

“We are renowned for being difficult to beat and we need to try to do the other side of the job as well, to find that bit of quality to put the ball in the net.

“We pushed and pushed but couldn't get the final moment.

“Overall, we're frustrated. It didn't go our way today."

Mee felt he deserved a penalty himself for a shove inside the Leeds penalty area.

“He came into the back of me and I don't know how it wasn't a foul," said Mee. “He dropped it and we put the ball in the back of the net.

“If he doesn't give anything we score a goal, but he blew his whistle so fast.

“It's a foul anywhere else on the pitch, but I don't want to talk about it too much because we got ourselves back into the game in the second half and had chances and a lot of pressure against a good side."
