Burnley sign keeper Robinson to new deal

Paul Robinson has signed a new contract with Burnley.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper has penned a one-year deal with the Clarets following their promotion back to the Premier League.

Robinson joined Burnley on a free transfer in January to provide back-up to Tom Heaton following an injury to Matt Gilks and has now extends this stay at Turf Moor following Gilks' transfer to Rangers.

"We are delighted to have Paul back on board," Burnley boss Sean Dyche told the club's official website.

"He continues to work hard at his profession and his wealth of experience is hugely beneficial to the team and, in particular, the goalkeeping department.

"Our other goalkeepers, especially the younger ones, will continue to improve while Paul is with us and we look forward to working with him again this coming season."
