Burnley are delighted with the news that Ashley Barnes is back in contention for a first team place.
The attacker has participated in a closed doors friendly and came through without any problems.
His absence since January has been a big blow for the team.
Aaron Lennon is another senior player who was involved in the game as he steps up his fitness.
"Barnesy is back on the grass with us now which is another step forward for him," said manager Sean Dyche about Barnes recently.
"He is not ready for this weekend but he is back in full training which will do him the world of good."
Burnley take on Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend.
