Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez has joined Championship outfit Barnsley on loan.

The 20-year old will join the Tykes for a month after being limited to just two appearances this season after returning from four months on the sidelines with a broken ankle.

Clarets manager Brian Laws said he wants Rodriguez to get some regular game time before deploying him later in the Premier League season.

"It's important for Jay to play some first-team football," said Laws.

"He's got a fantastic future and still has a part to play this season."
