Burnley are returning for Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall.
The club has new ownership and manager Sean Dyche has been given a license to spend.
However, the ALK Capital group that now owns Burnley may prefer to spend big in the summer, when prices are generally lower.
According to the Mirror, Worrall is a real target for the Premier League club.
He is seen as a long term successor to Burnley's current defenders, Ben Mee and James Tarkowski.
Forest want £10 million for Worrall.
