Departing Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is being linked with a return north.

The Daily Mail says Burnley are considering a move for defender Cahill.

The experienced centre-half will leave Chelsea on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.

The former England star will be offered a short-term deal at Turf Moor.

Cahill had a season on-loan with the Clarets when with Aston Villa.
