Burnley missed the chance to finish eighth after losing 2-1 to Brighton at Turf Moor.
A victory for the Clarets would have seen them finish one point ahead of Arsenal but instead they end the season in a respectable 10th.
Yves Bissouma opened the scoring for the visitors before Chris Wood brought Burnley level.
Aaron Connolly restored Albion's lead shortly after half-time and Graham Potter's side held on to finish with 41 points for the season, their highest ever tally in the top-flight.
Speaking after the game, Potter said: "We can go into a little break and have some time with the family, hopefully enjoy that and come back and try to improve."
