Burnley midfielder Dwight McNeil delighted to be on England radar

Burnley midfielder Dwight McNeil is delighted to be on the England radar.

Gareth Southgate has spotted McNeil's potential, inviting him to train with England over the international break.

"We were still prepping for the Under 20 Poland game which was two days away at the time and we were having breakfast," McNeil said, having scored in victory over Wolves.

"Our manager Paul Simpson came over and said, 'You'll have breakfast and then be training with the seniors'. I thought I did really well, it was a good new experience.

"I wasn't nervous. You just have to take it like you're training with the lads and that is what I did. I was up against Kyle Walker and it was good to learn from him.

"It helped that Tarks (James Tarkowski) and Heats (Tom Heaton) were in there. It was a good learning curve. All the lads were really welcoming and it made it easier.

"Gareth just said before the training session to enjoy it and to express myself and afterwards it was a real confidence-booster when he said I did really well."
