Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield is a surprise target for MLS sides Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact.
The Canadian is an important member of Burnley's squad, but the idea of returning home and playing for a team there is appealing to him.
Both sides are willing to make him their "designated player," for the coming MLS season. Such a tag would ensure that he can earn a higher salary than most of the other players in the squad.
Arfield's contract with Burnley will expire in the summer, and it is unclear whether he will renew. If he does not sign a new deal, a move to Canada to an MLS club seems likely.
