Burnley manager Sean Dyche hopes the club can get one or two transfer deals over the line.
The Clarets have not been as active in the transfer market as some supporters may have hoped.
Dyche is prioritizing the addition of wingers to his squad, but LancsLive suggests no deals are imminent.
"Recruitment has been a challenge but it always is. There are ongoing hopes that we can recruit in the areas that we need," said Dyche.
"We are not that much closer (to signings) at the current time, I am speaking to the owners freely, Alan Pace particularly, about what we can do.
"There are situations that we are involved in, the numbers still have to work. That is something that I have been fair and honest with all the way through.
"The new people will hopefully adjust slightly but it is not radical shifts and putting money everywhere.
"We do need to recruit, the wide areas are quite obvious I feel, we are looking in those areas.
"But the players have to fit the model, the team and the way of working that can effect us in a positive manner."
