Burnley to learn Eckersley fee owed to Man Utd Monday

Burnley will learn on Monday the fee they owe Manchester United for young defender Richard Eckersley.

The Clarets have not yet paid a penny to Manchester United for the out-of-contract 20-year-old because the two teams could not agree a compensation fee under the Bosman ruling.

The Lancashire Telegraph says it is understood Old Trafford chiefs want around £1million for the Salford-born defender, who signed a four-year contract in July last year, whereas the Clarets are looking to spend more in the region of £200,000 on a player who has yet to make a Premier League appearance in a claret and blue shirt.
