Burnley keeper Pope set for Newcastle medical

Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope is set to have a medical in Newcastle on Thursday.

Pope is close to completing a move back to the Premier League after the Clarets' relegation to the Championship.

The Sun reports that Pope will have his medical this week, as the two clubs have all but agreed on a fee.

Pope will cost Newcastle around £10 million, as they look to bolster manager Eddie Howe's squad.

The England keeper will be hoping to fend off Martin Dubravka and claim the no.1 shirt at Newcastle ahead of the new season.

The 30-year-old only has a year remaining on his contract with Burnley.
