Burnley keeper Pope keen on Newcastle switch

Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope wants to sign for Newcastle United.

The England international wants to remain in the Premier League after his club's relegation.

Pope is aware that half a season in the Championship may hurt his chances of being in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup this winter.

According to the Daily Mail, Pope is ready to sign for Newcastle and battle for their no.1 shirt.

Martin Dubravka is their choice between the sticks at present, but manager Eddie Howe wants to bring in Pope as competition.

The player believes he is good enough to earn a starting spot.
