Burnley in talks for Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst

Burnley are moving for VfL Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst.

The Daily Mail says Burnley are in talks with Wolfsburg over a deal for prolific Holland international striker Weghorst.

The 6ft6' Weghorst, 29, wants to come to the Premier League and Burnley are trying to agree terms after talks with Wolfsburg initially broke down last week.

Burnley checked on QPR's Lyndon Dykes on Tuesday and have discussed free agent Andy Carroll plus Cardiff's Kieffer Moore, who is the subject of a bid from Bournemouth.

Burnley's campaign has been beset by postponements and they currently sit bottom of the league with just 12 points, four points from safety.

But having played four less matches than Norwich City, who are sitting in 17th, Burnley boss Sean Dyche knows his side can fire themselves to safety with attacking reinforcements.
