Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart admits he was hurt by their result upon his return to Manchester City.
Hart was given a warm welcome back at the club where he won two Premier League titles to help kick off a golden era for the reigning champions.
But with his allegiances now firmly with Burnley, the Clarets' goalkeeper left his former home feeling the pain of a 5-0 defeat.
“The feeling of frustration is a not nice one," added the 31-year-old, who made 348 appearances for City before joining Burnley in the summer.
“I appreciated the reception, but I came here as a Burnley player and the only thing I cared about was trying to get a result for us, so it wasn't the perfect day.
“I love this place. We've got a lot of history. That will never change and I'm very proud of everything I've done here, but it's the second part of my career now and I'm looking to kick on.
“I'm ready and fresh and happy to give everything to Burnley. That's all I want to do and that's all that excites me about my career right now."
