Burnley fullback Phil Bardsley says he remains in contact with former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Bardsley, 34, achieved his boyhood dream of playing for United before joining Sunderland in 2008. He's now at Burnley who face Leicester at Turf Moor on Sunday.

"I was walking across the road and a big black Merc pulled out and reversed in. Fergie rolled his window down at said: ' What have I told you, son? Have a f***ing shave' ," reveals Bardsley to the Daily Mail.

"I'm 33 at the time, stood there trying to cross and I've just had a rollocking from the gaffer.

"I was only going to my wife's shop to pick something up!"
