Burnley defender Owen Dodgson was thrilled with the experience of victory in their U23 win against Sunderland this week.

Dodgson scored twice against a Sunderland team which featured five first teamers.

He said, “We knew that [they were playing] before the game, but it didn't faze us whatsoever. We still went into the game as we do with every other one, knowing what the challenge is and being ready for whatever comes our way.

“It was definitely a great feeling playing at the Stadium of Light.

"I thought that we did really well on a very good pitch and it was great experience for the lads to come away [from here] with three points."
