Burnley defender James Tarkowski is set to be offered an England World Cup chance.
The Mirror says Gareth Southgate is considering calling up Tarkowski for England's pre- World Cup friendlies this month.
Three Lions boss Southgate was at Turf Moor on Saturday to run the rule over Tarkowski and Clarets keeper Nick Pope, as he prepares to name a squad to face Holland on March 23 and Italy four days later.
Tarkowski, 25 — who also qualifies to play for Poland — has caught the eye this season, while England are short of a centre-half with less than 100 days to go until the finals begin in Russia.
Pope is also in Southgate's mind with Burnley's first-choice keeper Tom Heaton still coming back from injury, Joe Hart out of favour on loan at West Ham and Stoke's Jack Butland short of his best.
