Burnley defender Eric Pieters calls for crisis talks

Burnley defender Eric Pieters has called for crisis talks after their 5-0 thrashing at Tottenham on Saturday.

Previously known for their resilience, they have now conceded 26 goals in their last eight games and Pieters believes the players need an emergency pep talk ahead of Saturday's clash with Newcastle.

“After three defeats you have to look at yourself and we must have a little chat with each other," he said. “It's simple details that go wrong.

“They were clinical but we can't make those mistakes because then it's going to be a hard game, it doesn't matter who you play.

“You can't change things now. We have to stick together. It's a good group. It's an honest group and an honest manager and we will stick together.

“We are going to work on small details and we are going to be ready for next week."
