Burnley defender Carlisle wants Portsmouth troubles fully investigated

Burnley defender Clarke Carlisle has called for a serious investigation into the problems at Portsmouth.

Pompey go to Turf Moor this Saturday.

Carlisle echoed Stoke boss Tony Pulis' call for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Portsmouth's travails.

The 30-year-old said: "Nobody wants to see a football club go under. It ruins so many lives - not just the working lives of the people at the club, but also the thousands upon thousands of supporters who stuck with the club through thick and thin.

"But I agree with Tony Pulis, there needs to be a very deep investigation here to raise awareness of what went on and go down as a guideline for other clubs as something to be very careful of."
