Burnley insist they have not been approached by Lancashire rivals Bolton regarding boss Owen Coyle. Coyle has been installed as the bookmakers' favourite to succeed Gary Megson following the former West Brom manager's sacking this week.

Coyle has already distanced himself from the position at his former club and a Burnley spokesman told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"There has been no discussion about our manager's future and no contact from Bolton regarding Owen Coyle."
