Burnley defender Kevin Long has signed a new two-year contract with the club after being ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Tests confirmed the Irishman had ruptured his cruciate ligament and will be sidelined for around nine months.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche said: "He'll be looked after, as we do with our players."
