Burnley coach Loughlan welcomes Brady comeback for friendly win

Robbie Brady was back in action for Burnley in their 5-1 friendly win over Curzon Ashton.

Brady successfully came through 45 minutes as planned as he stepped up his comeback from the knee surgery he underwent last December.

And frontman Sam Vokes, with a headed double, Nahki Wells and Jon Walters all got on the scoresheet in the second half after Ben Mee had nodded an equaliser just before the break.

“It was brilliant for Robbie. He's been working so hard with the physios to get right," said coach Tony Loughlan, who took charge of team affairs.

“It's fantastic he's come through 45 and I'm really pleased for him.

“He looked very sharp and could have got on the scoresheet himself.

“I don't think he wanted to come off. The plan was always 45 minutes and he's really pleased with his evening's work as well."
