Burnley caretaker manager Jackson happy for fans after victory at Watford

Burnley caretaker manager Mark Jackson was delighted with his players after victory at Watford.

Jackson was happy for the traveling fans as their survival hopes remained alive.

He said, “We're delighted with the result. Sometimes it's just crazy in the last moments of games. They're so emotionally charged and there's so much at stake for both teams. You just have to try and find a way of winning them.

“We knew at half time that we could do a lot better, and the group thought that as well. We knew the crowd here might get a bit edgy with it still being 1-0 so we knew we needed to lift it, get a little bit more of the ball and create more chances.

“We started the second half really well, had a chance early doors, and I think that was a big thing. Credit to the group again."

He continued: “It's great to see the scenes at the end. Before the game, you could hear the fans, they were bouncing. I said to the team that they needed to use that atmosphere.

“We did everything for them today and have come out on the right side.

“I didn't know that Corky [Jack Cork] had scored it at first, but he's done great. Josh getting on the scoresheet is great as well, two centre midfielders.

“I can't speak highly enough of how the team have gone about that today because it's not easy when you know how much is at stake. We're just delighted to get on the right side of the result at the end."
