Burnley boss Sean Dyche highlights 2019 progress

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is proud of their progress in 2019.

Having been in relegation trouble after a stuttering start to last season, the Clarets have picked up 36 points in the 25 games since Boxing Day 2018, when they lost 5-1 at home to Everton.

They are now ninth in the early Premier League table ahead of travelling to newly-promoted Aston Villa on Saturday.

“It's a healthy return and I think we could have had two more at Wolves, we deserved that," Dyche said of his side's points total from the last 25 games.

"We can't take anything for granted, we're not there, some teams are in the Premier League.

"Everything is a challenge and in a way that keeps the hunger, keeps the edge in what we do, and when we play with that, we're a strong side.

“So far this season there's only really been the second half at Brighton where we didn't perform.

“We've performed well this season, and we've got to keep doing that."
