Burnley boss Sean Dyche: Clinical Crystal Palace finishing made difference

Burnley boss Sean Dyche felt Crystal Palace's superior finishing was the difference in Saturday's 3-1 defeat.

Palace had much the better of things under grey Lancashire skies, with Michy Batshuayi and Wilfried Zaha adding to an own goal from Phil Bardsley.

Dyche said: “I thought clinical finishing was ultimately the difference. I think I'm right in saying their away record is better than their home and you can see why.

“They came with a 'defend to counter' game and that's good thinking from them because they have good players on turnover and pace in transition.

“They used that wisely, but it's a strange one from our point of view because statistically we've done well today.

“It's a strong performance with 18 efforts at goal, lots of the ball and numerous crossing attempts, but those final moments are the key.

“They found them and credit to them for that. We didn't and we had enough of them.

“In the first half I felt we dominated the feel of the game and knocked on their door.

"They go and get a ricochet goal and I was actually quite happy at half time because there wasn't a lot wrong.

“It was just the tiny details and as we all know they are so important."
