Burnley boss Kompany mocks Ronaldo after Man Utd release

Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered a humiliating snub.

The Portuguese attacker had his contract canceled by United this week.

Ronaldo, who will be hoping to earn a move to another top level side after the World Cup, is not even wanted by a Championship side.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany admitted he wouldn't sign the forward for his team.

Kompany told the BBC during their World Cup coverage: "I think in the end everybody loses except perhaps the Man United manager. I think it is a problem that has been resolved and they will move on from this."

He then added a dig at Ronaldo when asked if the attacker could move to Burnley: "We need players who can run."
