Burnley boss Kompany discusses plans for Man Utd striker Weghorst

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany will hold discussions with Manchester United loanee Wout Weghorst in the summer.

The Dutch striker has been impressive at United during the second half of this season.

Despite a poor scoring return, Weghorst' workrate have made him invaluable to boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Asked by Lancs Live about Weghorst, Clarets boss Kompany stated:

“No, it's a little bit difficult to have any discussions at all at the moment because we're all in the cutting edge moments of the season.

“You think that those conversations could happen sooner, but in reality it's difficult because you're so focused on getting over the line with your goals.

“He has his goals, he wants United to be in the Champions League and he wants to win the FA Cup if possible.

“We have our own goals, we still want to get the trophy over the line, but the moments will happen and I'm looking forward to having that conversation."
