Burnley boss Sean Dyche was left frustrated after their 0-0 draw with Norwich City.
Burnley dominated large periods of the frantic encounter but were unable to find a breakthrough and now sit on three points after seven games heading into the second international break of the season.
Dyche said: “Sometimes you need a scruffy one to get you off the mark.
“One of those things that can drop in the box and you score from – and that changes the mentality. There was a lot of good stuff and effective play but scoring a goal is a challenge at the moment.
“We're so close but we've got to continue to at least perform how we are performing – but add in to that.
“I believe it will come because we have the players, I believe, of that quality. “I think we limited them to very little and when we did actually have to defend, we defended well.
“But we need to affect the attacking side of things – that adds to the framework of the side and they're the details that we're having to work on. “We've got to add to the quality going into their box but there are a lot of good signs from a defensive side of things.
“Now it's about finding the quality and the detail to turn performances into wins."
