Burnley boss Sean Dyche refused to blame his players after blowing a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at home to Newcastle on Sunday.
Matej Vydra had the Clarets ahead before Allan Saint-Maximin set up Jacob Murphy before scoring the winner himself.
Dyche later said, "I don't think we threw it away but I think we could have done better.
"We gave them two chances. There were a lot of good things about the performance but there's a sense of frustration. Their keeper made a couple of big saves. We're a bit limited at the minute.
"It's a strange season for us. We played well for a large period of the game last week and didn't see it through. The same things has happened this week. We're not a million miles away."
