Burnley boss Dyche coy on Stoke target Vokes

Burnley manager Sean Dyche would not be drawn on the possibility of Sam Vokes leaving the club.

Stoke City want to sign Vokes before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

Vokes is priced at £9 million, which is a figure Stoke may not be able to match.

While Vokes is not first choice at Burnley, losing him would lessen their depth ahead of a crucial fight to stay in the Premier League.

When asked about Vokes after a 2-2 draw with Manchester United, Dyche told the Lancashire Telegraph: "It just suggests he has respect from the fans and he respects them.

"He is not on the way at this moment in time that's for sure."
