Burnley boss Dyche accepts 'good point' after Huddersfield draw

Burnley boss Sean Dyche will welcome the international break after their 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.

Sam Vokes' first half goal was cancelled out by Christopher Schindler's equaliser midway through the second half at Turf Moor.

“It's a good point by the end of the game and we've just taken seven points out of nine in the Premier League, so that's obviously the bigger picture," Dyche said.

“A very good seven out of nine, as well, because at this level they are all tough, but the frustration is that by half time today we should have been out of sight.

“Three chances all feel to Sam and let's make it clear I'm not questioning him because his headers were fantastic, but his first one you think if it goes anywhere else, it's in.

“He scores a terrific goal and then he's unlucky to not have a penalty, but then again we never get them, so let's not go down that road after 51 games.

“So it's an odd one, because at half time I'm thinking 'I like what I'm seeing' and the effectiveness of the side, but in the second half we just never got going.

“Partly, you have to give them credit because they pressed, secured the ball and were patient, without really opening us up too much.

“But that affects you, of course, and in possession we were nowhere hear where we need to be.

“We lacked calmness and sometimes you only need to get one or two good passes away and the game feels different, but we never really got that."

Dyche, who was without Belgian midfielder Steven Defour through a family issue, added: “We need this international, break now, just as we needed the last one."
