Burnley battling to prise Wilson away from Liverpool

The future of Liverpool midfielder Harry Wilson remains up-in-the-air.

The 23-year-old has not played a competitive minute since returning from a loan spell at Bournemouth, and was an unused substitute as Liverpool beat Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup last week.

There has been interest in the wide man, not least from Burnley, who are looking to add to a relatively thin squad in the next seven days.

While there has been contact between Liverpool and Burnley, the Athletic says there has been 'no progress' on a move to take Wilson to Turf Moor.

Wilson has played just once for Liverpool's first team, back in the 2016/17 season, but impressed in loan spells in the top two divisions.
