Atletico Madrid are yet to secure assistant coach Mono Burgos to a new deal.

While head coach Diego Simeone put pen to paper on a new contract to 2022 on Thursday, an agreement with his No2 is still to be found.

Indeed, the former Argentine goalkeeper was missing from Simeone's signing ceremony and celebratory photograph with his deal still outstanding.

Burgos' agent is Natalie Simeone, Diego's sister, and there remains confidence on both sides of an agreement being found.

While he was missing from the snap, those present were the nucleus of Simeone's staff: Pepe Pasqués, the press chief of the coach, Profe Ortega, physical trainer, Pablo Vercellone, goalkeeper coach and Nelson Vivas, assistant to Simeone.
