The Bundesliga will have to wait to find out if and when it can return to action after the government delayed a decision on the league's resumption, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
The Bundesliga has been suspended since mid-March as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, but organising body the German Football League (DFL) said last week that both the top flight and second-tier 2. Bundesliga would be ready to resume on 9th May.
However, following a video summit with federal state leaders, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that any decision over the resumption of sports activities in Germany would now be made on 6th May.
The DFL said in a statement on Twitter that it 'accepts no decision has been made' to resume the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, adding that both the league and its clubs would continue to prepare for a return at sometime in May.
