Sunderland are set to close a deal for Sedan fullback Paul Baysse.

The Sun says Baysse claims he is set to join Bruce's Wearside revolution - but only for the money.

The French defender, 21, is close to a £2.5m move from Sedan after revealing the ambitious Black Cats blew West Ham and Blackburn out of the water by offering personal terms of £25,000 a week.

He said: "The wages on offer at Sunderland are 20 per cent bigger than the ones offered by West Ham and Blackburn and I'm attracted by it."
