Released PSG goalkeeper Gigi Buffon is eager to remain in Europe next season.

The Italy legend announced on Wednesday that he and PSG would be parting ways halfway through their two-year agreement.

Buffon has offers from MLS and Chinese clubs, but he wants to remain in Europe and join a Champions League club.

The former Juventus No1 has been linked with AS Roma, though their failure to qualify for Europe's elite competition rules them out, says Gazzetta dello Sport.

Buffon stated yesterday: "Twelve months ago, I arrived at Paris Saint-Germain filled with enthusiasm and welcomed by the incredible warmth of the fans. It was really moving. Thank you, once again, with all my heart. I'm happy to have lived this experience that has undoubtedly improved me and made me grow."
