Bruno Fernandes pal Francisco Ramos: Sign for Man Utd?

Francisco Ramos has thanked Bruno Fernandes for putting him on the world football map - but says his immediate plans are to make it with VitoriaGuimaraes.

The midfielder is currently on-loan with Santa Clara this season, admitting he sought out the move after a battle for regular football with Vitoria.

However despite his struggles, Ramos was making headlines last week after good friend Fernandes declared he'd like to play with him again - even at Manchester United. The pair played against eachother as junior club players and also were teammates with Portugal's youth teams. Ramos has been capped at all levels between U16 to U23. The midfield duo remain close.

But Ramos admits his focus only is on finding a way to make it with Vitoria.

He told O Jogo, "I'm a friend of Bruno's and we talk every day, so I already thanked him for his thoughts. He replied that he didn't do me any favors. We can have similar characteristics, but his finishing and his last pass are more accurate."

On his current situation, Ramos insists his ambitions and self-belief remain.

He continued: "I accepted to be loaned again, to show my worth, and I will not lose hope.

"Disillusioned? No, everything is very uncertain in football. I accepted the invitation from Santa Clara and I am happy, because I have been playing regularly."

Before moving to Vitoria in 2017, Ramos was on the books of Porto, where he spent almost nine years. Fernandes, meanwhile, left Sporting CP for United in January, where he has enjoyed immediate success.

Ramos is tied to Vitoria until June 2021.
