Bruce: I told Sunderland to get stuck into Arsenal players

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce admits he wanted his players to get in the faces of Arsenal for Saturday's 1-1 draw.

It was Arsenal who gave referee Phil Dowd the most work in this 1-1 draw, the Gunners losing Alex Song to a dismissal for two of his umpteen offences while Arsene Wenger's team also committed more fouls over the course of the game.

Bruce said: "I've never sent out a team to kick people off the park, but the one thing you've got to do is get up against them. You've got to stop them playing but do it in a way that's within the rules."
