Bruce fed-up with Newcastle takeover uncertainty: It's disrupting transfer plans

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce says takeover uncertainty is now hurting the club.

It has been over three months since Newcastle owner Mike Ashley agreed to sell to the Public Investment Fund.

Yet with the prolonged season coming to an end on Sunday and the transfer window opening on the following day, Newcastle are in limbo.

Reports this week claimed the takeover had stalled 'indefinitely' with the Premier League backing Qatar's beIN Sports in a row with Saudi Arabia over piracy.

"Look, we need a resolution to that one way or the other but all I can do, along with Lee is plan for what we need & work on that," said Bruce.

"A lot of previous planning has been disrupted because of what has happened in the world.

"The longer you're in the Premier League the bigger and better you become. We have to keep moving the club forward and adding that quality that improves you."

On his market plans, Bruce added: "We've got one or two things in the fire right now. Let's hope we can pull them off.

"We've got competition. My job is to keep knocking on the door and asking the question.

"I really want us to improve and get better.

"We need to improve the squad but also ensure we get value for money."
