Bruce claims Newcastle will do everything to retain Arsenal loanee Willock

Steve Bruce says Newcastle United will be their 'upmost' to keep Joe Willock.

The Arsenal loanee scored for the seventh straight game in the 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday.

"I couldn't be more pleased for him. He's done so well," Bruce explained to the BBC following the final whistle.

"We'll try our utmost to keep him but we must respect that he's Arsenal's player."

It is believed Arsenal are willing to sell 21-year-old Willock, who came through their academy set-up.

Reports have claimed it will cost Toon around £21m to sign the attacking midfielder on a permanent deal.
