Browett excited by Palace FA Cup tie with Dover Athletic

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Browett has welcomed their FA Cup draw with Dover Athletic.

Browett is hoping for a bumper crowd down on the Kent coast, claiming that Dover have a stadium capacity bigger than some Football League sides.

"I don't know if it's going to be picked for television or not yet, but if you wanted a David vs Goliath game, then obviously a non-league club against a Premier League club is just that," he told the Croydon Advertiser.

"Anything can happen in the FA Cup as we've seen before. It would be quite embarrassing for us to get knocked, wouldn't it?

"I could understand how in the country everyone apart from Palace fans would find the prospect of us being knocked out exciting.

"Not so long ago we would have been seen as the minnows in cup competitions but the draw is great and I hope for Dover it will be a sell-out.

"It's great for them they've got a Premier League club and one for them that's not a long way away as well.

"I am sure there are some clubs in the Football League who haven't got the capacity they do either?

"It gives us a good chance to progress but I'm sure the Dover players will absolutely up for it."
