The brother of Rodrigo Vilca expects a move to Newcastle United to be soon sealed.

The Magpies have held talks over a possible £250,000 deal with the 21-year-old's club Deportivo Municipal for the Lima-born player.

Brother Fabian told Telemundo: "We feel very happy Diego, we're very happy with what's going on with my brother, personally and professionally.

"We hope that everything is done soon.

“He is happy and very enthusiastic about this opportunity that is being presented to him, but he is also focused on Municipal and staying grounded, trying to always give the best of himself, on and off the pitch."

Asked if his brother had spoken with Peru and Newcastle legend Solano about the move, Fabian added: "I can't really answer that question.

"I can only tell you that both my brother and my family respect Solano a lot, who has left a very high legacy at Newcastle!"
