Brother: Arsenal boss Emery watching Guendouzi at Lorient

The brother of Matteo Guendouzi admits the presence of Unai Emery was key to the former Lorient midfielder moving to Arsenal last summer.

Bastien Bénard admits his brother's former club PSG had also been keen on re-signing Guendouzi.

He recalled to Le Parisien: "He was not in charge of transfers (at PSG), but I knew that Unai Emery had followed him for a long time.

"He had spotted him while Lorient had taken a 5-0 at the Parc and Mattéo had played only the last thirty minutes. So, I can tell you that he did not hesitate for long when he knew that the Spanish coach was going to Arsenal - even if PSG were making a forceful pitch (for him)."
