Chicago Fire have signed a local broadcast deal with Comcast SportsNet (CSN) Chicago covering the next three years, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The deal will begin this season, with the channel set to broadcast 21 Fire matches starting with the home game against Vancouver Whitecaps on 14th March.
"Over the past several seasons, we've seen significant ratings increases in our game broadcasts," said Fire chief operating officer Atul Khosla.
"Through destination programming and a comprehensive content development strategy, we will now be appropriately positioned among the biggest sports properties in the city on CSN Chicago and are poised for continued growth. We couldn't be more excited."
Phil Bedella, Comcast Sportsnet Chicago's vice president and general manager, added: "The Chicago Fire has certainly made an impact not only in terms of growth of their fan base over the past several years, but also in their devoted impact in our community.
"We are proud to be the regional television home for the Fire and fans can count on us to deliver expert game coverage, along with enhanced digital coverage, beginning this season."
