Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich may be willing to let Chelsea collapse.
That is according to the Daily Telegraph, who quote an insider in Boris Johnson's Government.
There are two weeks remaining until a government deadline for the sale of Chelsea from Abramovich to another party.
A consortium led by American businessman Todd Boehly are close to agreeing a deal.
However, there are still issues that remain unresolved.
Government sources suggest one of the problems is that Abramovich wants a £1.6bn loan to be repaid by the buyer, which they are unwilling to do.
