Nicky Maynard feels his move to West Ham is necessary to further his career. The former Bristol City striker signed on with the Hammers on Tuesday for an undisclosed fee.
He has wished his old club well, telling Bristol City's official website:
"I thank everyone connected with (Bristol City) for giving me the chance at Championship level and I loved scoring goals for the team and the fans. I have respect for everyone there and plan to keep in touch with the lads and staff. I hope the team continues to progress and I'll look out for the results.
"I fully expect the club, under this management team, to continue to move up the table and they'll be fine come the end of the season." "I enjoyed my time at Bristol City but the opportunity to move to a massive club like West Ham, who are destined for the Premier League, was too good to turn down.
