Bristol City boss Lee Johnson believes that Lloyd Kelly is a very clever signing for Bournemouth.
The youngster has sealed a move to the Premier League club for a fee that is supposedly in the £13 million range.
And his former boss, for whom Kelly played 48 games this season, says that he is a great signing for the Cherries.
Speaking about Kelly to BBC Radio Bristol, Johnson said: "His England performances have shown his quality. He's learned so many lessons this season and trained at England senior level.
"We've had to put an arm round him and give him a kick at times. He's got the lot. My frustration is that I won't get to work with him any longer.
"It was announced as a club-record fee so read from that what you want. But it's Premier League so it's not like he's moving sideways.
"I think he's a centre-half long-term – and he's a late developer. It works for all parties.
"It's clever from Bournemouth – as the top six sides would have been looking at him."
